About the game

Cat in the Ring is a solo project developed for android. Players control a cat which can move around the grid to collect fish. While moving around the grid the player must avoid bulls which charge through the files and columns. As higher scores are reached, players can unlock different skins for characters, enemies, fish and background which can be mixed to create the players favourite combination of characters.

My work

I developed this project entirely solo, including the art. The player moves based on the closest direction to the vector of the swipe on the phone screen. The bulls pick a starting side randomly and a warning shows on the left and right side so that the player will not be surprised by bulls coming from the shorter angles which would give them less time to react to. Once the player is hit by a bull, they get can chose to end the game or gain a once per game continue by watching an ad.
