Archipelago

About the game

Archipelago is a game about sailing and exploration.
The player takes control of a young character Tai on their first day running deliveries for their grandpa. Archipelago was a team project created in one semester consisting of a 7 person team. It's an open world game with an emphasis on exploration and freedom.

My work

I contributed largely to the land sections of the game. This includes the character controller and the minigames the character can play, along with the NPC characters, the dialogue system and the quests which are assigned to the player. I also implemented the map, compass and quest reminder system to keep the player on track if they forget what they are supposed to do. I also implemented the tri-planar shader which is used the texture the terrain of the world.
